If you’ve ever clicked the download button and the bottom left hand corner of a picture or graphic attachment you received in a text, on a Samsung Android, you will know that it comes up with this almost useless message SAVE TO YOUR MESSAGES STORED MEDIA:
The question is where is “Messages Stored Media”?
After we’re reviewing many blogs and technical support articles that wrongly state images that are saved or downloaded from a text message will appear in your Gallery software, we decided to figure it out by scanning through all of the files on our Samsung S22 Galaxy.
…and here is where messages stored media is. Messages Stored Media on your android device name > INTERNAL STORAGE > PICTURES > MESSAGES:
Above we are showing you how to find “messages stored media” on a Windows 11 computer using File Explorer.
Below we are showing you how to find “messages stored media” on a your Samsung Android, using the My Files App.
If you still can’t find your downloaded files from your text messaging app just leave a comment below and if we don’t get back to you somebody else probably will.

There is no such folder as internal storage\pictures\messages on Samsung Android unless you created it, and even then, it doesn’t save pictures stored from texts there.
The correct pathway is internal storage\download. You’re welcome.

Hi Pheonix;
I beg to differ. The path we outlined most definitely exists. We did not create it manually and have verified this on 4 different Samsung Galaxy devices from 2 different clients… including my own.

I have screenshots that prove otherwise. Too bad you don’t allow them to be uploaded here as evidence. I wonder why that is… Could it be because you know you’re wrong? I guess we can’t know that for sure, but I think that’s the most likely reason.

We also have four different Android devices and they all have a internal storage\pictures\messages. Maybe yours is an anomaly or maybe you’re wrong. But there’s no reason to be hostile towards the people who took the time to post this solution. And please reconsider childish sarcastic comments like “Your welcome”.

Hi Don;
I don’t use that service, but I BELIEVE it is not possible to create folders in that tool because Google thinks you should SEARCH for items rather than properly name or organize them. I could be wrong.
