This is not hard to do but it is easy to make a mistake. If you want to view your email inbox folders on a Galaxy S3 Android 4 all you have to do is open your email and:
- Click the folder select box at the top
- Click SHOW ALL FOLDERS
- Click the INBOX ICON (not the text… repeat NOT the text… touch the pretty icon)
- Select the folder you wish to view

I recently bought a Samsung galaxy pro. My problem is in my university mail, subfolders always indicate number of emails contain there though I have read them all. But number of new emails appear on the inbox disappear soon after opening as I wish.
Please help me how to remove number of emails appearing on the sub folders after reading.
Thanks a lot for your Thoughts!

Hi Dissahie;
Sadly I do not have an answer to your problem as I do not have this issue 🙁

I can see all the folders using the suggestions given above but when I want to move a message to a folder I am only given a choice of a few folders – and not the one I actually want. Solution?

Just found another forum they suggested changing the pop3 to IMAP, I did this and it auto dowloaded all my subfolders.

Hi Keyomi,
The vast majority of people do not have access to IMAP, but I am glad it worked for you. Perhaps others will find this useful.

Hi. My Samsung s3 just updated to android version 4.3 I have followed the screen shots and tried to click on the icon not the text but nothing happens??? Is this direction now different with the new update?
Thanks

Using Android 4.3, you click the three small horizontal bars at the top left of the screen (or just swipe from left to the right), select SHOW ALL FOLDERS and expand the folder you are looking for.
Keep in mind that this will ONLY SHOW YOU A FEW WEEKS OF RECENT EMAIL, depending on your settings (2 weeks in my case). Many people have only OLD email in their email folders so they will see a nice empty folder. This may be your issue.

I have another problem,
when an email comes to my inbox (ex:2 emails), I saw the number 2 on the email client icon on my android S3, but the problem is that if a new email come to a subfolder directly (using a moving rule in my outlook), the notification number didn’t increase on the email client icon, so I should always check the subfolders for new incoming mail.
Anyone have a solution?
Thanks

I have confirmed with Samsung directly that this is not possible with the integrated mail app. I understand that TouchDown email app for Android does what you want but it is not free.

I have not seen or heard of this behavior before. If you device is a corporate asset, let me know and I will get you in touch with Samsung business support.

Thank you for the original tip.It worked wonders.
I am using Office 365 Exchange and Samsung Galaxy 4 Android 4.3
On Feb 12 2013 Robert in the USofA described a problem I am also having.
Clicking the icon displays all the folders. There are parentheses indicating number of unread emails. On my PC I have ‘rules’ moving unread emails to their correct subfolders but I also have a search folder for Unread emails on my PC. Can I create a similar folder on my phone?
Cindy in Winnipeg · December 7, 2013 at 10:48 pm
But the parentheses do not appear until I click on the sub-folder that has unread email.

Worked perfectly.

I have always seen this work so my thought is that you are clicking on the wrong graphic, but without seeing what you are doing it is difficult to comment. Sorry

My 365 account was installed on my Galaxy Note 3 with no problems BUT… I can only see a part of my folders. (All of my folders are under inbox but on my note 3 I can only see some of them). Any ideas?

Have you tried updating to Android 4.3?
San · November 6, 2013 at 3:08 am
I have galaxy note3.. I cannot view my folders.. I can see on iphone before… There are more than5 folders.. Plz solve the problem
Ian Matthews · December 4, 2013 at 12:07 am
Two things:
1: I have only tested on a Samsung S3 but fully expect the same behavior from any Android 4.x device – again make sure you are clicking on the ICON and not the folder name.
2: We are not Samsung and can not “fix” anything. If you are still having problems, I would contact your local vendor and ask for assistance.
I hope this helps.

I’ve found that this seems to only be an issue when you select a manual setup. if you do that then it lists all the spam through and you can’t see your folders however if you do the automatic setup then it seems to work just fine

Oh thank you! This has been driving me crazy!
