Microsoft just announced that Windows XP, Windows Vista & Windows 7 are all elligible for an upgrade to Windoes 8 Pro, for just $40. That is between half to a quarter of the usual upgrade price.
Microsoft is also providing Media Center for free to those who take advantage of this upgrade offer.
That upgrade price will apparently be avaible only on Microsoft.com in 130+ countries but a retail pack will go on sale for $70. This price difference gives retailers some margin and Microsoft some manufacturing and distribution cost recovery.

Hi there! I know this is kind of off topic but I was wondering if you knew where I could get a captcha plugin for my comment form? I’m using the same blog platform as yours and I’m having difficulty finding one? Thanks a lot!

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.
