We do a lot of work with our clients remotely and often end up using their Microsoft 365 licenses temporarily to access their data or systems. As you can see in the screenshot below I had a situation in which my clients Microsoft 365 Apps For Enterprise stayed connected after I was done working with it and that’s a problem. The client doesn’t want me to have one of their licenses and I don’t want to have one of their licenses because we have our own Microsoft 365 Apps For Business Premium seats we source as part of our Microsoft partner plan.
The problem was we couldn’t get rid of the our clients M365 Account on Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook but keep our acocunt in MS Teams for multiple companies.
Here is how we fixed it:
In our case we did not have any cached creds for the account we did not want, but you might.
cscript "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office16\OSPP.VBS" /dstatus
cscript "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office16\OSPP.VBS" /unpkey:XXXXX
We did not have to do this part. After the undesired subscription was killed, I found my Teams still had both my URTech and my clients Teams account… but you may not be so fortunate.
