SOLVED: How To Install RSAT Tools On Window 11

Remote Server Administration Tools (RSAT) are a collection of tools that allow IT administrators to manage Windows Server roles and features from a remote Windows PC. These tools include Server Manager, Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-ins, consoles, Windows PowerShell cmdlets and providers, and command-line tools.

Once RSAT tools are installed users with appropriate permissions can view and manage all kinds of active directory functions including Users and Computers, and Sites and Services.

IT Administrators, Help Desk staff and even many Network Administrators We’ll need access to RSAT tools from their desktop computers. The only real problem with RSAT tools is that Microsoft keeps moving where they install from on Windows 10 and Windows 11 computers:

1. Click the START button
2. Click the Settings cog icon
3. Click SYSTEM
4. Click OPTIONAL FEATURES
5. Click VIEW FEATURES button on “Add an optional feature”
6. Searching for “RSAT”
7. Select RSAT: Active Directory Domain Services and Lightweight Directory Tools
8. Click OK, wait for the install to complete, then reboot… yes a reboot is required

After the reboot, all of the usual Active Directory tools will appear in your Windows Start Menu.
