What are the basic knowledge points of CCNP? CCNP Certification Exam requires a core test and an optional test, in which the core test is the written test in the corresponding direction of Cisco CCIE, so the core test of CCNP is still pretty difficult. Moreover, there are five different directions in CCNP Certification, and the emphasis of each direction is different, so the basic knowledge points assessed are also different.
However, the core tests of CCNP Enterprise Foundation and CCNP Wireless are the same: core technology test of implementing and operating Cisco Enterprise Network. The core test focuses on your understanding of enterprise infrastructure, Including dual stack (IPv4 and IPv6) architecture, virtualization, infrastructure, network security, and automation. Next, SPOTO will focus on this exam to give you a brief introduction to the basic knowledge points of Cisco CCNP.
IPv6 is the abbreviation of Internet Protocol 6th Version. It is widely used and permeates all aspects of our daily life. It is the next generation IP Protocol designed by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) to replace IPv4. Its number of addresses claims that it can encode an address for every grain of sand in the world. For network engineers, it is very basic and important. Therefore, SPOTO will focus on the knowledge points related to IPv6 today.

IPv6 Address Type
Unicast Address: Identifying an interface, messages whose destination address is unicast address will be sent to the identified interface, which is divided into Aggregatable Global Unicast Address, Link Local Unicast Address and Site Local Unicast Address.
Multicast Address: Identifying multiple interfaces, messages with the destination address as the multicast address will be sent to all identified interfaces.
Anycast Address: Identifying multiple interfaces, messages intended for anycast address will be sent to the nearest identified interface. The nearest node is defined by the Routing Protocol.
IPv6 addressing is divided into interface identifier and host bit. The interface identifier is used to identify the interface on the link. The interface ID must be unique on each link, with a total length of 64 bits, and can be automatically created according to the layer 2 media and packaging mode. In Ethernet, the interface ID is created based on the MAC address of the interface, and the format is EUI-64.
IPv6 Basic Configuration
Enable forwarding IPv6 unicast datagrams: IPv6 Unicast Routing
Configure IPv6 address and prefix for the interface: IPv6 addressesaddress / prefix-lengrh [eui-64link local]
Verify IPv6 configuration: Show IPv6 interface Brief
IPv6 Routing IPv6 Unicast Routing: static routing, RIPng OSPFv3, IS-IS EIGRP and MP-BGP4. Before configuring any IPv6 Routing Protocol, IPv6 Unicast Routing must be enabled and IPv6 Unicast Routing must be used.
These contents are the most basic. Every network engineer needs to master them. In addition, CCNP also contains many other basic knowledge points, and what needs to be mastered in different directions is different. The above mentioned is only part of the specific basic knowledge points. In fact, you can check it on Cisco official website, which is also very detailed. For network engineers who want to take CCNP Exam, it is very important to understand these outlines. Only in this way can they know the key points they need to master and learn more easily.
