We recently created a video explaining how to setup and use the Your Phone app in Windows 10 to your PC. Shortly afterwards we received questions from a number of corporate users about problems using their corporate Office365 accounts. They received:
“…That Microsoft Account doesn’t exist. Enter a different account or get a new one”
We were able to reproduce the problem ourselves and after doing some digging we found that this is in fact by design:
“…The Your Phone app doesn’t currently support multiple Android profiles or work/school accounts. ” SOURCE
This is quite obnoxious and what appears to be a silly limitation which has caused friction and generated support request to Microsoft like:
“…Isn’t the fact that our O365 email address ARE Microsoft accounts enough to BE a Microsoft account? How can we use Your Phone with our company devices using our company email accounts? SOURCE
That question was from June 2020 and the response was ‘that is a known limitation… get over it’. One year later, today June 2021, it appears that nothing has changed so I doubt it will. The most you can do as a user is let Microsoft know that you want this feature using the FEEDBACK HUB.
Case, frustratingly closed.
