SOLVED: How To Roll Office 365 Pro Plus Back To A Previous Version

If you are working with Office 365 Pro Plus you may find a problem and want to roll back to a previous build.  That can easily be done using the build in command line tool.

Before you get started, look at the Office 365 Pro Plus list available from Microsoft HERE and decide which version you want to roll back to.

1. Close all Office apps (Outlook, Word, Excel…)
2. Launch a CMD line as an administrator
3. type cd %programfiles%\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\ClickToRun\
4. press the ENTER key
5. type OfficeC2RClient.exe /update user updatetoversion=16.0.11328.20392 – substitute your desired version here –
6. press the ENTER key

Wait a few minutes for the process to complete and while a reboot is not required, it is a good idea.
