SOLVED: VIDEO: Dell Latitude 7400 2in1 Unboxing Disassembly Review & Benchmark

We unbox, mildly disassemble, review and then benchmark the new Dell Latitude 7400 2-in-1 laptop. These are impressive devices that are both powerful and ultra-portable:

The key specifications are:

• 8th generation Intel i5-8265U U = ultra low power for extended battery life
• 8GB RAM DDR3
• 256GB Class 40 SSD
• 14″ laptop in a 13″ all aluminum chassis
• 2.99lbs
• high quality touch screen that folds all the way back to turn into a tablet

We compare the 7400 performance to the new Dell Optiplex 5070 and last years Dell Latitude 5490 laptop, the Optiplex 5070 desktop and others in this benchmark:

We explain that the 7400 2 in 1’s use Dell NVMe PCIe Class 40 M.2 drives which are very fast.  If you are unsure what a Class 40 drive is click the link for a table showing the differences.

 

Adding More RAM Memory

All of the 7400 2 in 1’s we have seen thus far only have 8GB of RAM and as you can see in the video there does not appear to be any DIMM slots for you to work with.  As such we don’t think the RAM can be expanded or even changed.  It is likely soldered onto the mother board.
