We compare the 7400 performance to the new Dell Optiplex 5070 and last years Dell Latitude 5490 laptop, the Optiplex 5070 desktop and others in this benchmark:
We explain that the 7400 2 in 1’s use Dell NVMe PCIe Class 40 M.2 drives which are very fast. If you are unsure what a Class 40 drive is click the link for a table showing the differences.
All of the 7400 2 in 1’s we have seen thus far only have 8GB of RAM and as you can see in the video there does not appear to be any DIMM slots for you to work with. As such we don’t think the RAM can be expanded or even changed. It is likely soldered onto the mother board.
We also have the complete service manual for the Dell 7400 2 in 1 available for you to download HERE which makes no mention of DIMM slots.
We also found issues with PXE booting the Dell Latitude 7400 and have written up the solution HERE.
