If you have a Lenovo laptop with a flashing LED on the power switch but will not power up, we have the fix. This short video shows a quick disassembly of a Lenovo Flex 3 1430. You can then unplug the battery and solve the issue.
In theory, holding the power button down (5 seconds on a PC or laptop, OR 15 seconds on a tablet) will force the unit to power down. However, that does not always work and so you need to pull the battery.

then how do we deal with the same issue for desktop / box
Hi SK; If your PC will not power up, you likely have a failed power supply and your local non-chain computer tech support company can likely replace it for you. If it powers up but just flashes, the flashes are usually in a pattern that you can look up. i.e. Google: Dell Optiplex 2 short 1 long flash code
I hope that helps.
Garbage - you did not fix it issue that cause the laptop to enter "fault" mode. You simply fixed the symptom. When it goes ito fault mode, this indicates a much larger issue.
Well that is nasty and unnecessary. It of course does resolve the issue and hundreds (not exaggerating) people have told me so. I fixed one of these with this issue about 4 months ago. Will it have to be done again many months in the future? Perhaps but your comment is like saying that rebooting your Mac does not 'fix' problems... of course it does even though it does not resolve the underlying code or hardware problem that caused the incident.
You have to smile more... look on the bright side a bit more.
Hi guys,
So i have a lenovo z710 and I just bought a new motherboard for it. I have disassembled it and reassemble it, with each component I added it still gave me the same issue (blinking power light) and it would not turn on. I hope you guys can help.
Sorry Humam; At that point you may have a failed CPU or motherboard :(
Using a small paperclip worked great! I am sooo glad I didn't take my whole laptop apart!
Hi VIrendra, I also have a T480 and the same symptom. Actually there is a easy fix, if you look carefully at the back of the laptop, there is a small hole which you can use a needle or iphone pin to push through, its a reset button in it. Hope it helps :)
Thanks Tim for taking time to share! That worked well for me.
Hi George
I have Lenevo T480 Laptop, with similar problem (Flashing LED Light at Power button and keypads keeps on blinking, but laptop unable doesn't start). As in this model, Battery is externally attached, I can easily remove and put back. I did that, but my problem is still un-resolved. Any other reasons for this , which part should I check. Pls guide.
^^^ Right on George!!
I only want to add a side note. Taking the batter out is always recommended when dissembling a Laptop. It doesn't matter if it's completely powered off or not. The battery should be taken out as a safety measure.
