If you want to invert (swap the columns for rows) using Excel 2007 through Excel 2016, you can use the TRANSPOSE function.
- In Excel, select all of the data you are interested in, right click
- select COPY
- Right click on an empty cell elsewhere in the same or a different worksheet
- Select PASTE SPECIAL > PASTE SPECIAL > click TRANSPOSE > click OK
I have seen TRANSPOSE be greyed out a number of times when I have tried to use it and the solution has always been to select less of the table (i.e. select less in step 1 & 2) and try again.
