SOLVED: How to Setup a Blackberry Playbook to Work with Office 365 Exchange Email
If you want to setup your Blackberry Playbook to receive / sync email contacts and calendar with your hosted Microsoft Office 365 email service just follow these simple instructions:
Blackberry Playbook Office 365 Exchange Mail Configuration OS2
Update your Playbook to OS 2. OS 1 will NOT sync with office 365 unless you have it tethered to your Blackberry (which I do not have). That problem is gone with OS 2 which was released February 21 2012.
click the settings cog icon in the top right corner of the home screen
select SOFTWARE UPDATES
do what is obvious
Click the settings cog icon in the top right corner of the home screen
Select ACCOUNTS
Select ADD NEW ACCOUNT
Select EMAIL CALENDAR & CONTACTS
Select ADVANCED SETUP
Again select EMAIL CALENDAR & CONTACTS
Type whatever description you would like
Do NOT enter ANYTHING in the DOMAIN field
Enter your full email address in BOTH the USERNAME and the EMAIL ADDRESS fields
Enter your password
Set the SERVER ADDRESS to m.outlook.com
Leave the SSL and PUSH in their default positions
Click CONTINUE
Wait a few minutes for the settings to take and the sync to complete
Have a nice day
If you go back and look at your settings later, you will find that the SERVER ADDRESS field has been changed to something else; in my case sn2pro0510.outlook.com and both USE SSL and PUSH are set ON.
How about Playbook 4G? am i able to sync Exhange account without BES dataplan? Thanks in advance.
I have not tested a Playbook 4G but expect it will work just fine without BES.
do i need BES plan for this to work?
BES is NOT required for this.
Tried it didn't work. After 1 day it tells me that the device is not added as a syncing device.
This should work and has worked for many. If not Microsoft (now) does support this and you can call them for free, if you are an admin, and they will walk you through it.
